So many things turned out to be fractal that the word &#8220;chaos&#8221; itself (in operational science) had redefined, or actually for the FIRST time Formally Defined as following inherently unpredictable yet generally deterministic rules based on nonlinear iterative equations. Fractals are unpredictable in specific details yet deterministic when viewed as a total pattern &#8211; in many ways this reflects what we observe in the small details and total pattern of life in all its physical and mental varieties, too.<br \/><\/em>&#8212;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.miqel.com\/fractals_math_patterns\/visual-math-natural-fractals.html\" target=\"_blank\">Patterns of Visual Math<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have always enjoyed seeing fractal patterns and forms come to light from exploring the smallest caverns of nature. And I thought it might be fun to take a short tour through a few galleries of microscopy.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The neural patterns seen in the above photograph I see regularly in programs like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ktaza.com\/fractal\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Sterling-ware<\/a>. The  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xtalent.com.au\/gallery\/index.php?cat=3\" target=\"_blank\">XTALENT Image Gallery<\/a> at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uq.edu.au\/nanoworld\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nanoworld<\/a>, an Australian research site devoted to microscopy and microanalysis, includes <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xtalent.com.au\/gallery\/thumbnails.php?album=20\" target=\"_blank\">a gallery<\/a> of artistically modified work.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i3.photobucket.com\/albums\/y95\/armyyouhave\/cruelanimal\/FeatherofaDominicanCardinal_IanCWal.jpg?w=545\" alt=\"Feather of a Dominican Cardinal by Ian C. Walker<\/a>.]<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The feather and fern forms in the image above have turned up for me in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fractals.net\/public\/fractals\/vchira\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vchira<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mysticfractal.com\/FractalZplot.html\" target=\"_blank\">Fractal Zplot<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eclectasy.com\/Fractal-Explorer\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fractal Explorer<\/a>. The image above was seen in the 2005 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nikonsmallworld.com\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">Nikon Small World<\/a> photomicrography competition. Postwork in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.daz3d.com\/i.x\/software\/bryce\/-\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bryce<\/a> also produces a comparable effect. Moreover, some glass and distortion <a href=\"http:\/\/www.photoshop-filters.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Photoshop filters<\/a> can produce corresponding effects. There are over 1000 stunning images to be seen in Tom Phillips&#8217; microscopic <a href=\"http:\/\/www.meteorite.com\/meteorite-gallery\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">meteorite galleries<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Today&#8217;s tour only scratches the surface of microscopy galleries found on the Net.
