{"id":121,"date":"2007-01-05T00:41:00","date_gmt":"2007-01-05T04:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/orbittrap.ca\/?p=121"},"modified":"2007-01-05T00:41:00","modified_gmt":"2007-01-05T04:41:00","slug":"hordes-of-photoshop-jockeys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/orbittrap.ca\/?p=121","title":{"rendered":"Hordes of Photoshop Jockeys"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"center\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eclectasy.com\/cruelanimal\/gallery49\/hordes.html\" target=\"_blank\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i3.photobucket.com\/albums\/y95\/armyyouhave\/hordes.jpg?w=545\" alt=\"Hordes of Photoshop Jockeys\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">  <\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Hordes of Photoshop Jockeys (2000) <\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This one is kind of an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.grassdogstudio.com\/hfr\/comics\/060630.png\" target=\"_blank\">in-joke<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Back when I used to post my images on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.toothpastefordinner.com\/010604\/1992-on-usenet.gif\" target=\"_blank\">Usenet<\/a> on alt.binaries.pictures.fractals (which were either &#8212; pick one &#8212; the good old days or the dark ages), there occasionally would be some lively (read: <a href=\"http:\/\/alexrock.servebeer.com\/burning-computer.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">flame-filled<\/a>) discussions. One night, a thread got hot and heavy on the subject of post-processing &#8212; meaning, at least in this particular discussion, the further <a href=\"http:\/\/z.about.com\/d\/politicalhumor\/1\/0\/Z\/8\/bush_manipulation_accomplished.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">manipulation<\/a> of fractal images by exporting them into Photoshop or other graphics programs. One writer, who obviously preferred his fractals to be unaltered (pure as the driven pixel?), complained that if post-processing became acceptable the fractal art world would soon be <a href=\"http:\/\/tn3-2.deviantart.com\/fs9\/300W\/i\/2006\/142\/e\/d\/Overrun_by_Toop.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">overrun<\/a> with &#8220;hordes of Photoshop <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uncp.edu\/art\/steeds\/gallery\/overrun%27%20dreams%20&amp;%20old%20ghosts.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">jockeys<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">As someone who post-processes with <a href=\"http:\/\/mikesphotography.blogspot.com\/2005\/08\/wild-abandon.html\" target=\"_blank\">wild abandon<\/a>, that phrase tickled me. So, naturally, I felt the need to make this image for him and share it.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Strange.
